Afriski Mountain Resort is a world-class ski village in the heart of Southern Africa. You no longer need to head overseas to enjoy snow-covered slopes, thanks to the modern snow-making facilities and ski-lifts on the Afriski slopes in Lesotho. About 10km from Oxbow via the Mahlasela Pass (3222m), one of Southern Africa’s highest road passes is the world-class resort boasting 3km of slopes, with lessons and packages available.
Explore the Maluti Mountains and test your own limits, whether you’re a beginner or more proficient on the slopes. Brush up on your skills at the Mountain Ski School or slide your way around with the kids bumboarding and tubing in the snow. The winter months between June and August are the best time to visit for skiing. Afriski offers thrilling cold weather sports for every ability level.
But winter is just half the story at Afriski! Visit in the summertime for a holiday in the great outdoors. Your days can be spent exploring the network of mountain trails on foot, on a mountain bike or in your 4×4. The panoramic vistas are punctuated with wildflowers and Afriski’s outdoor guides are always on hand to lend advice on the most picturesque walking trails
From September to May, activities including hiking, ziplining, fly-fishing, paintball, quad tours, mountain biking, enduro biking, monster rolling and abseiling are offered.
Snowboarding
Hone your skills and grab some air on the slopes at Afriski. Beginners can book with internationally qualified instructors offering lessons for any level.
Skiing
Master the basics at Ski School or head straight to the slopes of the Kapoko Snow Park to test your skills on the fully equipped slopes.
Bumboarding & Tubing
Whether you need a break from the slopes or not a fan of skiing or snowboarding, enjoy hours of fun in the Bumboarding and Tubing Alleys.
Quad Biking
Tackle the toughest mountain terrain on a guided quad biking tour around the Afriski bowl which offers exceptional views of the surrounding mountains.

Mountain Biking
Crank up the adrenaline climbing the spectacular single tracks at Afriski. The breath-taking scenery is just that when you’re riding at 3222m.
Head for ‘Africa’s Alps’ for a holiday unlike any other. Swap your boogie boards and bum shorts for ski’s and snowboards and head for the highlands of Lesotho for a snow-filled holiday you won’t soon forget. The best time to visit is at the start or very end of the season when the slopes are emptier (winter lasts from June to August). Once school holidays begin, it gets extremely busy.
